TIMON - Enhanced real time services for optimized multimodal mobility relying on cooperative networks and open data

The main concept behind the project idea is to leverage the available data related to transport (transport open data and data generated by users and infrastructures) to process it and to deliver services dedicated to solving transport problems from all the transport ecosystem users. Data from social networks related to traffic events will retrieved as well as data from intermodal mobility transport options. Data generated by drivers and vulnerable users will be used to determine the traffic conditions of the sections where they are circulating and to deliver warning services based on vehicle to vehicle communication. Finally infrastructure sensors will also be used also as a primary source of information to evaluate traffic conditions. The platform will process all the information aiming at 1) Increasing GNSS technology accuracy resolution by means of collaborative positioning in low performing conditions; and 2) Delivering services all the stakeholders of the transport ecosystem: Traffic control operators, citizens (drivers and vulnerable users) and businesses.
